Course Description

This seminar introduces participants to interdisciplinary approaches to theory development and guides them in integrating these approaches into their own research, fostering innovative perspectives while maintaining conceptual rigor in theorizing and hypotheses development.

Assignment / Grading

Participants are expected to actively participate in the discussions, as well as to prepare and present an interdisciplinary research proposal aiming to contribute to existing theory. Students are assigned to write a theory section combining theories inherent to their research domain of interest with theories from other fields and to derive hypotheses accordingly. Grades will be based on a presentation (15-minute presentation, 15-minute discussion), focusing on the following elements: contribution statement, theoretical background, and hypotheses.
